Rick Shoemaker - (Drums / Vocals)

Drummer/Percussionist/Vocalist/Songwriter/Lyricist/Educator.

I started drumming at age ten. I studied privately for a few years, learned the rudiments and how to read music, and would practice along with all the records I had, mostly the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Yes, Deep Purple, King Crimson, and the Stones.

As I got older I listened to more jazz and fusion, Miles Davis' On the Corner, Weather Report, Lou Donaldson's Alligator Boogaloo, the Meters, and Jeff Beck's Wired and Blow by Blow were some of my favorites.

Since moving to Atlanta in 1993, I have played music with the Mystic Orchestra on the Flashback tour, Janah, Leni Stern, Buddy Miles Band, Geoff Achison, the Radiators, Mike Martin, Ed Wier, Eric Sands, Jimmy Hawking, Benevento and Russo duo, Spot, and others.

General: I enjoy swimming in radioactive waste water, sneaking into stranger's pools and nightswimming, collecting car hood ornaments, sushi, wasabi, electromagnetic polarity in relation to advanced perception, splosions, and cats.
